The Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) has a multitude of on-going
projects in the Arkansas, White, and Red Basins. This report is on new
activities or activities that have made significant progress since October
2007. Detailed information on individual projects is included in the handout.

Missouri
- Current River 11010008, Rapid Watershed Assessment, 100 percent
complete.
- Upper Black River 11010007, Rapid Watershed Assessment, 100 percent

- Eleven Point River Basin 11010011, 100 percent complete.
SPECIAL INITIATIVES
Arkansas
- Rapid Watershed Assessment. Purpose: assess resources, concerns
and potential remedies for natural resources problems, White River Basin.
Project is 100 percent complete.
Colorado
- Reclamation of dry grassland on retired irrigated fields.
Kansas
- Rapid Watershed Assessments (7). Purpose: resource inventory and
assessment.
Louisiana
- Rapid Watershed Assessment. Purpose: provide estimates of where
conservation investments would best address the concerns of landowners,
conservation districts, and stakeholders within a watershed.
Missouri
- South Missouri Water Quality Project Office is a planning and technical
assistance office to improve water quality in the White River Basin.
