Agriculture Options Seminar in Spanish

LITTLE ROCK, AR – The USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) sponsors a seminar for Hispanic landowners and farmers to discuss Farm Bill programs Sept. 7.

The free seminar, “Enhancing Hispanic Communities for the Future,” is from 6 to 8 p.m. at the DeQueen Cultural Center in DeQueen, Ark.  Registration begins at 5:30 p.m.  Small landowners, limited resource farmers, and anyone else interested in Farm Bill programs are encouraged to attend.   All communications (spoken and written) will be done in the Spanish language.

The following agencies will present information on service and programs they offer.

  • University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service
  • University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (Small Farms Program)
  • Arkansas Forestry Commission

DIRECTIONS TO THE DEQUEEN CULTURAL CENTER:  From the junction of U.S. Highways 59, 70, 71; drive west on Highway 70 approximately 0.5 miles.  After crossing the railroad overpass, turn left onto 3rd Street.  Drive a half mile to the stop sign, turn left onto De Queen Avenue and continue one and a half blocks.  The Cultural Awareness Center is the new building on the left.  The meeting room entrance is located on the west end of the building.
